Pathetic NIT picks. If you are going to give Xavier the automatic bid from the A-10. You should at least give the A-10 regular season champ an NIT bid. Rhode Island is currently leading the A-10. We will know more after Wednesday's matchup @ Xavier, but they beat UMASS once and beat Dayton (who is on your NIT bubble). Yes, they had a bad OOC start to their season, but look at what they've done lately (10-3) conference. That needs to count for something and they aren't even on your NIT bubble...pitiful!
Rhode Island could have beaten Boston College earlier in the year. If they had, does that mean they should be in the NCAA tourney? You reference them beating Dayton, but I'm not exactly sure how I'd put them in over the Flyers who aren't even in my bracket anyways. Dayton has wins over Louisville, Austin Peay, Creighton, and Holy Cross while Rhode Island's best OOC win is over Utah or Boston U.? As for Rhode Island's 10-3 league record, that doesn't mean much this year in the A-10.
Furthermore, what teams would I leave out to put URI in? LSU? They've been atrocious lately but still have wins over Texas A&M, Wright State, Ole Miss, Arkansas, and Connecticut.
Connecticut may have played a layup of an OOC schedule, but it's still not as bad as Rhode Island's two Div-2 games and their loss to Troy.
Iowa? They've been playing quite well over the past couple of months having beaten Michigan State, Michigan, and Indiana.
